Job Purpose
As our Individual Giving Officer you will play an exciting and important role in growing the income generation of the Trust from individual supporters. Your excellent people skills can have a tangible impact, encouraging new donors and providing exceptional stewardship to existing ones. By retaining and increasing their support you will help achieve Wildwood’s income targets and enable the vision and mission of the Trust to protect, conserve, and rewild British wildlife. Your key area of focus will be driving charitable donations, running appeals and fundraising campaigns and gift aid.
Key Responsibilities
Provide excellent stewardship to individual donors through building relationships and quality communication.
Identify potential new donors and funds through prospecting, leading on donor acquisition.
Drive the delivery of fundraising and stewardship events / activities.
Maximise opportunities to develop and deepen relationships with our supporters.
Work with the communications team in the the development and delivery of fundraising appeals across various channels, including direct mail, email, and digital campaigns.
Use donor data to inform targeted communications and campaigns planning, identifying donor progression opportunities.
Administration of donations, including responding to enquiries and ensuring accurate and GDPR compliant records.
Ensure donor journeys are consistent and compelling.
Adhere to the Fundraising Code and Charity Commission guidelines and other external regulations (e.g. GDPR) as set out by Wildwood Trust's policies and procedures.
The Working Week
Each week will offer different opportunities, and your role will be to identify and capitalise on these. Whether you are communicating with supporters, running an appeal, grant prospecting, or analysing data to identify potential giving opportunities, you will be inspiring, thanking and growing our supporters, guiding them on a journey of deepening engagement.
Core working hours are 09:00 until 17:00 with an unpaid half an hour for lunch. This post is 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. The job will involve overtime, including some evening, weekend and bank holiday working as part of your normal duties. You may be required to occasionally travel between parks.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

To succeed in this specific role you will be personable, engaging, and a great communicator.
Essential
A warm, approachable and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
Proactive and self-motivated with strong people skills.
Creative flair for developing engaging donor communications.
Experience in running or supporting sales or fundraising appeals or campaigns.
Experience working with data, reporting and basic financial processes (e.g. donations, direct debits, Gift Aid).
An understanding of donor journeys and stewardship planning.
GSCE C/grade 4 in Maths and English (alternative equivalent qualifications will be considered).
Demonstrate a genuine love of British wildlife and belief in Wildwood’s Mission; to protect, conserve, and rewild British wildlife.
Desirable
Previous experience in a fundraising role within a charity setting, ideally involving individual giving or donor care.
Experience using a CRM or supporter database with good attention to detail.
Good knowledge of the fundraising landscape in Kent.
Previous involvement in donor events or supporter engagement activities.
