Education

As one of the leading British animal conservation charities in the UK, we are at the forefront of pioneering conservation projects, making us an invaluable place to visit to learn about conservation, animals and the natural world.

Education is a fundamental part of what Wildwood does.

People are by far the most influential keystone species on our planet. We have the ability to change the world. Our actions can safeguard nature and give our wildlife a chance for a future.

In a time of eco anxiety we extend a message of hope and inspiration. Through rewilding and restoring lost species and by showing others how they can help, we can begin to heal the harm to our natural world.

Conservation courses

Join us for an immersive journey into the heart of British wildlife conservation. As a dedicated conservation charity, we are passionate about protecting, conserving and rewilding native species across the UK.

Our conservation courses are as diverse as the landscapes we work to protect. With offerings that change throughout the year, you might find yourself learning dormouse handling, decoding the melodies of birdsong, or exploring wildlife interpretation techniques.

Education in Kent

We offer engaging workshops linked to the national curriculum, educational tours and animal focus talks for a wide range of groups and ages. Or, immersive, authentic historical experiences during our Living History and Blean Bison sessions.

Set in 40 acres of ancient woodland, Wildwood is an excellent place to practice woodland ecology techniques such as invertebrate and plant sampling and small mammal trapping.

We also have an outreach programme which allows us to bring conservation into your classroom. GCSE, A-level and IB groups can join us at the beach to collect data using practical rocky shore and sand dune sampling techniques.
