UKHab Webinar Training Course (online)
Monday 25th November 2024
10am - 3.30pm
Cost: £150
Tutor: Lesley Mason PhD ACIEEM, an experienced botanist and vegetation habitat surveyor who has been teaching UKHab courses an an official UKHab accredited trainer since 2020.
UK Habitat Classification (UKHab) has been recently updated to Version 2. UKHab is a relatively new comprehensive vegetation classification but it is rapidly replacing Phase 1 Habitat Survey in Preliminary Ecological Assessments.
UKHab is an essential tool for assessing habitat ‘distinctiveness’ as part of the Biodiversity Metric used for Biodiversity Net Gain assessments for development planning applications.
UKHab also has many uses in land management and conservation projects, as a relatively rapid methodology compared with NVC, and can be paired with condition assessments and detailed botanical surveys when recording and assessing sites.
